Hello beauties! Hope you are all feeling fabulous! Today I will be reviewing a mascara that I have been really loving lately. It's the YSL Faux Cils Volume Effet Mascara and it's such a nice product! I received a small sample size of this not long ago and absolutely loved the way it made my lashes look. So as soon as my sample ran out I was back in Sephora to pick up the full size!

I usually opt for drugstore mascaras as they are more affordable and deliver great results but after using the sample of this mascara I loved the look so much that I thought I'd splurge and go for a bit of luxury this time around.

So lets's take a closer look!

So let's start with the packaging. It's you would expect from a luxury brand. It comes in a super shiny golden tube with the YSL logo imprinted on it. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the "baby doll" written down the side in red. It kind of ruins the whole "luxurious" look for me...not that it really matters (just being picky). The mascara formulation and brush are what's REALLY important and I have to give a big thumbs up for both!

The wand is nice and long...I really love long wands. I feel like I have allot more control when applying with a longer wand and can get into those smaller hard to reach areas without getting mascara all over my skin. Another bonus is that when you pull the wand from the tube the perfect amount of mascara is on the brush. I really dislike when a brush comes out of the tube and it's loaded with too much much that you need to wipe some off before applying. This one is great!

The brush itself is a synthetic/plastic spike-y type brush with short bristles. It really is easy to use and seems to grab all my lashes (long & short) separating them and coating them evenly. I have always preferred natural "bush-y" fuller mascara brushes as I always thought they provided more volume and just grabbed my lashes better...but this one delivers close to the same look with the synthetic brush. It combs out the lashes giving them a feather-y look while providing some volume and length.

In the picture above you can kind of see how flutter-y and feather-y this mascara makes the lashes. It gives nice separation with a clump free smooth and even application. It adds some volume and delivers some length as well. The color "Fetish Black" isn't the blackest black but it's quite dark and gives nice definition. After applying my eyes are framed with lovely long and wispy lashes that really do have a "doll eyed" effect. It also has a nice floral scent as opposed to a chemical scent which makes it quite pleasant to use.

Overall I love this mascara. It applies evenly and smoothly without any clumps. It doesn't flake, fade or smudge throughout the day and it makes my lashes look feather-y...long and gives some volume. Also it doesn't make my lashes stiff or brittle feeling...they have definition but still feel somewhat soft to the touch. It has a pleasant scent and frames the eyes with soft flutter-y lashes! Great mascara!

Hello lovelies! Today I will be reviewing a staple in my skin care routine. It's Avene's Thermal Water Spray and it's truly an amazing product. I have been using this spray for years and can't be without it! It's the perfect pick me up for tired lack luster skin and it feels so refreshing...especially in warmer weather. I use it day and night and love the way it makes my skin feel.

So let's take a closer look at this wonderful product!

When I first saw this product years ago...I thought it was a complete waste of money. Water in a can? How silly! How wrong I was! I remember getting a small can as a gift with purchase shortly after and immediately after the first use...fell in love! I have been using it religiously ever since. I cannot be without this spray. It is so versatile and makes my skin look more healthy and radiant.

Avene's Thermal Spring Water Spray is infused with trace elements and silicates creating a perfect balance of minerals that are very beneficial for maintaining healthy skin. This blend is ideal for sensitive/intolerant skins and delivers soothing, restoring and healing results. It has a balancing effect on the skin and can be used in so many different ways.

I like to use this spray morning and night as my toner. After cleansing I simply spray my entire face and neck area with this and allow it to dry for a few moments before applying my moisturizer. It instantly refreshes and revitalizes the skin always feels balanced and toned after using this.

I also use this spray as a "setting spray" or "finishing spray" over my make up. It works wonderfully at setting your make up and it makes your foundation look more natural and "skin like". Especially if you're wearing powder foundation or a mineral powder that can sometimes look chalky or too "powdery"...this spray corrects that and makes the powder become one with the skin.

I also like to keep a bottle of this in the fridge during the Summer and throughout the day spritz myself to freshen up. It's so cooling and refreshing and it's a wonderful pick me up during hot and humid weather.

This product is also great if you've spent too much time out in the sun and have gotten a little burn. It's very cooling and healing and helps soothe the skin. It's also great for razor burn after shaving or after waxing to help soothe and calm the skin. Because of the high mineral content and soothing benefits...this spray may also aid in the relief of psoriasis and dermatitis.

This product is my "holy grail" skin care product. It has improved the texture, tone and overall health of my skin. I also find that it works great for breakouts. It seems to calm the redness and inflammation down and helps heal the skin. Such an amazing product! Highly recommend!

Hello everyone! Hope you are all well! Today I wanted to review a new lippie that I picked up the other day. It's the lovely "Role Play" Lip Gel from Marc Jacobs and it has quickly become my perfect "go to" shade for effortless chic everyday wear. This lipstick is absolute perfection...everything from the packaging...formulation to the shade. I'm loving it!

So let's take a closer look at this little lovely!

So let's start with the packaging. It's sleek and minimal which I really like. It has a nice weight to it and feels substantial in the hand. The neat thing about the case is that it has a magnetized closure so when you put the cap on it snaps into place and feels quite secure.

The formula is not like a traditional lipstick. It's a lip "gel" which has a cushy/jelly cream consistency that is really comfortable on. It feels plush, silky and lightweight and is quite moisturizing as well.

I would describe the color as a neutral dusty rose/pink/nude that is so flattering and really feminine. It has great pigmentation and is quite long lasting. One swipe gives lovely smooth hydrating coverage that lasts (on me) for approximately 3-4 hours.

Role Play is such a great color for everyday wear or if you are (like me) a lover of nudes. It has just the right amount of color to add some brightness to the face without washing you out. It's a soft, feminine and classic color that adds a touch of sophistication to your look.

I absolutely love the way this lippie feels on. It's super smooth and wraps your lips in creamy lightweight saturated color. It has a slight sheen which adds a touch of freshness and youthfulness to the finish. I find it wears away very evenly (after 3-4 hours) and doesn't settle into or accentuate the lines in my lips. It has a slight vanilla scent that is quite pleasant and is a real joy to apply. I will definitely be going back for more! Love it!

Hello beauties! Hope you are all well! Today I wanted to review a super fun and playful lipstick that I purchased a while ago and have just recently been really enjoying and using quite a bit. It's MAC's Vegas Volt and it's such a lovely bright pop of color...perfect for Spring/Summer time wear!

So let's take a closer look at this bright beauty!

Vegas Volt comes in an "Amplified" finish which has a creamy and smooth feel when applied. It hugs the lips with creamy comfort and I find it doesn't dry out my lips. It also wears well...I can get approximately 3-4 hours before I feel the need to re-apply.

As you can see in the swatch pictures above...this lippie is very opaque and has great pigmentation. With just one swipe it gives amazing vibrancy and creamy even coverage.

I love this shade because it's very versatile. I find that if applied lightly it has a beautiful soft coral quality and when applied full on you get that dramatic intense beautiful "over the top" bright orange tone...both (I think) look amazing on warmer skin tones.

Being a lover of nudes and natural "my lips but better" shades I tend to apply this lipstick with a light hand. I usually just dab it on until I build up to the color that I want...which is usually a soft coral shade. I love how this shade brightens up my face and adds a touch of playfulness to an other wise simple look. It's such a Summer-y color that looks festive and fun!

In these next pictures I tried to capture the vibrancy of this shade. Dabbed on gently (above) it takes on a really pretty soft coral-y tone and worn full on (below) it looks more like a vibrant coral-y/orange shade. Either way it's lovely and such a fun pop of color!

I usually pair this lipstick with a simple defined eye...peachy cheeks and a touch of bronzer. It just reminds me of Summer and looks amazing on tanned glow-y skin. I've also used this lippie as a cream blush. It adds a lovely flush of color to the cheeks and works great if you are in a rush! A few dots to the apples of the cheeks...a little dabbed onto the lips and a black bit of mascara and you're all set!

Overall this lipstick is great if you want a nice vibrant pop of color that can be worn full on or dabbed on for a softer look. It has nice creamy highly pigmented coverage that applies smoothly and evenly and it doesn't dry out the lips! Highly recommend Vegas Volt for a fun Summer-y look!

Hello lovelies! Today I will be reviewing a lovely cleanser I've been using recently with great results. It's the Boots N0 7 Beautiful Skin Foaming Cleanser for normal to oily skins and it has really become a favorite especially for Spring/Summer when my skin is especially oily.

As I mentioned skin is quite oily and I'm always on the look out for something that will cleanse thoroughly without stripping or making my skin feel dry. Allot of "oily skin" cleansing products that I have used in the past have always been too harsh and leave my skin feeling uncomfortable and tight. This cleanser has been working's super gentle but very effective!

So let's take a closer look!

This cleanser has a gentle soap free formula that is formulated to gently cleanse and purify normal to oily complexions. It removes make up, dirt, oil and grime without stripping the skin or leaving any dryness. It has a toning effect on the skin as helps make pores look slightly less noticeable and leaves the skin feeling super smooth, soft and refreshed.

This product looks like a liquid but comes out as a foam and has a nice creamy consistency when massaged into the skin. Also a little goes a long way with this cleanser. I find one pump does the trick and removes all my make up easily.

This cleanser also has a scent which could be a problem for some. I usually try to stay away from skin care products that have a scent as they can sometimes aggravate or irritate the skin. This one seems to be okay (for me so far). I haven't had any adverse reactions or breakouts with this...even with the scent. I would describe the scent as a pleasant "cosmetic" smell that isn't too overwhelming and seems to fade within 10-15 minutes after using.

This product has a multi-vitamin and mineral blend in it's formulation that will help hydrate, nourish and energize the skin. It's also enriched with zinc which is great for oil control and regulating/balancing the skin.

I find that my skin feels refreshed, comfortable and deeply cleansed after using this cleansing foam and it seems to cut down on my shine/oiliness for a few hours after using. My pores look slightly minimized and my skin overall looks firmer and more toned without feeling dry or tight.

I also find that while I'm massaging this cleanser into my skin it has a nice slip to it and it glides over the skin and is very silky feeling. It rinses away effortlessly and really does a great job at removing all my make up including my eye make up.

I've been using this product morning and night and my skin feels clean, fresh, more balanced and toned. Great cleanser!

Hello beauties! Hope you are all feeling fabulous! Today I have lipstick review for you and it's on another great color that I recently got from the "Back To MAC" recycling program. If your not familiar with their recycling bring in 6 empties and get to pick out a lipstick! How great is that?!

The lipstick I chose was "Creme In Your Coffee" which is a beautiful, sultry, versatile and wearable shade that I've had my eye on for awhile. It's perfect for everyday or evening wear and because of it's creamy finish it's a delight to wear!

So let's take a closer look at this lovely lippie!

"Creme In Your Coffee" comes in MAC's signature black and silver lipstick bullet style tube which is sleek and sturdy. It also has the signature MAC "vanilla" scent.

The finish of this lipstick is a cremesheen. Which has a rich and creamy and very smooth consistency. It glides on and wraps your lips in creamy comfort.

This shade is described by MAC as a mid-toned pink brown. I love those types of shades as they look really natural on the lips...almost a "my lips but better" shade.

As you can see from the picture above the pigmentation and coverage of this lipstick is pretty great. This is one swipe and it has smooth even coverage and amazing color payoff.

Creme In Your Coffee a great shade for everyday wear as it enhances your natural lip color and looks quite natural on. I like to dab it on for a sheer wash of color or for more drama I wear it full on. It has such great pigmentation...a little goes a long way with this one.

I find this lippe really comfortable to wear. It's creamy and feels moisturizing on...I don't seem to have any uncomfortable dryness when I wear this. It wears well...I can get about 3 hours wear from this before I feel the need to re-apply. As it wears off it becomes more of a stain and your lips have a soft tint of color which I really like the look of.

As you can see in these next few pictures the color is really lovely and (I think) quite flattering for most skin tones. It has just enough pink in it to make it pretty and feminine and just enough brown to give this shade some depth and definition.

"Creme in Your Coffee" is what I like to call an "amplified nude" shade...which has a natural nude quality about it but has enough color to add some life and brightness to the face. It's a soft flush of natural color that has a sophisticated and classic feel to it.

Overall "Creme In Your Coffee" is a beautiful shade that gives you that "my lips but better" look. It has a lovely creamy and smooth consistency...applies evenly and delivers amazing pigmentation. It's comfortable to wear and doesn't dry out the lips. It also wears quite well...I can get approximately 3 hours wear from it before it fades and I need to re-apply. It's a versatile color that can be dabbed on for a subtle look or worn "full on" for more of a dramatic look. Lovely lipstick!

Hello everyone! Hope you are all well! Today I will be talking about a powder foundation that I have been really loving lately. It's MAC's Studio Fix Powder Foundation and it's such a great product...especially if you don't like to use liquid bases or you're looking for something that feels lightweight but gives great coverage.

I have super oily skin that is really hard to control especially in the hot I tend to gravitate more towards powders rather than liquids in the summer time. This powder is really effective as it gives decent coverage...helps control oil and gives the skin a flawless look without much effort.

So let's take a closer look!

This powder comes in the signature sleek and sturdy MAC compact that houses a good sized mirror which makes touch ups easy. It also comes with an application sponge that is in a compartment underneath the foundation.

As you can see this powder is well loved! I've been using it quite a bit since the weather has gotten really hot and humid. Sometimes I use it alone with a little concealer or as a setting powder over my favorite BB cream from Stila.

The texture of this powder foundation is a little heavier than your typical powder as it is a "foundation" and does provide a substantial amount of coverage. It has a smooth finely milled texture and an almost creamy consistency that applies very evenly giving your skin a perfected look that isn't cake-y or chalky.

You can kind of see the rich consistency of this powder in the picture above. This is one swipe and it has pretty good coverage. This product is gives light to medium coverage depending on application. It also works well as a setting powder. As I mentioned earlier...I've been using it to set my Stila BB Cream which helps control shine and gives me a touch more coverage.

MAC Studio Fix applies effortlessly. I usually use a large powder brush to apply it if I want lighter coverage or I'll use a Kabuki brush and buff it into my skin building it up for more of a medium coverage. It evens out my skin tone, smooths out imperfections and helps control shine. It also doesn't oxidize or separate on my oily skin after application. It actuality looks better as it wears throughout the day. It warms to the skin and almost becomes one with the skin giving you a really natural look.

For me this product lasts pretty well on my oily skin. I can go most of the day without feeling like I need to touch up. I do however sometimes blot my skin with a blotting sheet or tissue as I tend to get slightly oily about mid afternoon but I generally do that no matter what base I'm wearing.

I've also had no problems with breakouts using this powder. It has no scent that I can detect and it doesn't seem to aggravate or irritate my skin.

Overall I really love this powder foundation. It's easy to use, quick to apply...goes on smoothly and evenly, has great pigmentation and provides light to medium coverage. It perfects the skin without looking too heavy, chalky or cake-y and has pretty good staying power even on oily skin. It hasn't broken me out and is great for oil control. It can be used alone with concealer or over a liquid base to set it or for more coverage. Love it!

YSL ROUGE VOLUPTE ~ Silky Sensual Radiant Lipstick #3 Ultimate Beige

Hello beauties! Hope you are all feeling fabulous! I have yet another lipstick review for you today...seriously I have a problem! Haha! I have been on a lippie binge lately and have a few more fabulous shades that I want to share with you so hopefully you're not too sick of seeing them!

Today I will be talking about the most gorgeous lipstick I have ever seen or owned! It's the utterly luxurious YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick and it looks like a piece of exquisite jewelry...its just so beautiful!

I've been dying to get one of these but I was never 100% sure about which color to go for (ordering online) and because they are more on the pricey side I didn't want to choose something that wouldn't look good on me. So now that we have a Sephora nearby (YAY!!!!) I was able to go and see first hand which colors were more flattering for my skin tone...which was so much fun!

So let's take a closer look at this amazing lipstick!

Okay we have to start with the is beyond beautiful! It comes in a lovely golden box and inside is the most luxurious tube of lipstick I have ever seen. It's a golden metal tube that feels very substantial in your hands.

It looks like something a glamorous Old Hollywood actress would have on her vanity...Lana Turner, Grace Kelly, Veronica Lake...Marilyn Monroe to name a few of my favorites! Such a treat!

Now let's move onto the texture and consistency of this lipstick. It's very silky, smooth and buttery. It almost melts into your lips and feels so soft and comfortable on. It glides on effortlessly and has smooth and even coverage. It's possibly the best feeling lipstick I've ever tried. It wraps my lips in rich and creamy color that has a lovely sheen to it.

I would describe the color of Ultimate Beige as a beautiful caramel/nude with hints of pink and peach...depending on the light. Let me explain. In some light (on me) it looks like a mid tone caramel/ brighter light it tends to look like more of a pink-y/nude shade (on me)...and sometimes it takes on more of a peachy/nude shade...this one is a chameleon!'s a beautiful color! It's another one of those "wearable" shades that gives your lips that "my lips but better" look. It's a great color for a fuss free everyday look that just looks polished and put together but never over the top.

I think this shade would be flattering for most skin tones as it adds some brightness to the face and a soft flush of natural color to the lips.

The pigmentation is really great on this lipstick. It's rich and has great swipe gives a substantial amount of color.

Because of it's pigmentation and rich and creamy texture this lipstick can feel a little heavy on the lips if applied with a heavy hand. I usually apply one swipe top and bottom for a softer look or I just dab it on for an even softer look.

In the pictures above you can see how pretty this color is. It has a soft sheen which is really nice especially if you're not a fan of lipsticks that can sometimes look flat or matte on the lips. I think the sheen adds some youthfulness and some freshness to the face.

Unfortunately it's not very long lasting. I can get about 1-2 hours wear from Ultimate Beige. I find that after that the sheen wears away and I'm left with more of a stain finish which I kind of like...or I need to apply more to refresh my look. I find this lipstick to be very moisturizing and comfortable to wear and because of it's rich pigmentation a little goes a long way when you first apply it.

Overall this is a very lovely lipstick not only the packaging but the actual product inside. It's luxurious, glamorous and it really is a treat to use. The color is so nice for everyday and perfect if you want something that will add a soft natural flush of color but is still subtle and delicate looking on the lips. It's has an amazing rich and creamy texture and feels so nice on. It's classy, sophisticated and oh so beautiful!

MAC "TWIG" LIPSTICK ~ Satin Finish

Hello lovelies! Hope you are having a wonderful day! Today I have another lipstick review for you...can you tell I have a slight obsession with lip products? Ha! I've really been into lipsticks lately and have been trying to chose shades that are classic and wearable and that really flatter my skin tone. Twig is definitely one of those shades!

Whenever I think of a great shade for everyday wear I always think of pink-y brown colors...I just think they are super flattering and so easy to wear for so many skin tones!

So let's take a closer look at Twig!

MAC "TWIG" LIPSTICK (satin finish)

Twig is described as a soft muted brownish-pink and is in a satin finish. The satin finish gives this lippie more staying power in my opinion. I can get approximately 4-5 hours wear before I feel the need to reapply. It's quite opaque and really wraps your lips in super rich highly pigmented color.

It can feel a tad drying as the day goes on...I would recommend using a lip balm underneath this one. Also this lipstick has a very rich and creamy consistency which is great but I find that if I apply too much it has a tendency to look slightly cake-y or too thick on my lips. So I usually just dab this one on which creates a lovely stain like appearance or if I want a bit more coverage I will just apply one swipe top and bottom and that seems to give pretty substantial coverage.

This is one can see how great the pigmentation is and how consistent and smooth the coverage is.

Twig is a medium pink/brown...I actually think it looks slightly rose-y depending on the light. When I wear tends to pull more of a rose/brown in darker lighting and in brighter lighting it pulls more pink-y/brown on me.

Twig is a very flattering and wearable shade for most skin tones but especially for darker ones. I think it compliments darker skin beautifully! It almost has that "my lips but better" look and it really adds some brightness to the face. I feel like it's quite a sophisticated and feminine looks classic and polished without looking over the top. It's looks lovely with a simple defined eye & rose-y cheeks...that's how I love to wear it!

In these next pics you can see how pretty and wearable this shade is. It's a great "go to" color for a fuss free everyday look. It has enough color to brighten up the face but it's not too dark/harsh or severe looking.

The lighting is a little bright in the pics above and you can see that the color is pulling more of a pink-y/brown as opposed to a rose-y brown like it would in darker lighting.

Here you can kind of see more of the rose-y brown coming through.

Overall Twig is a great choice if you are looking for a classic wearable and feminine color for everyday. It's creamy and somewhat long lasting...(although I do find it slightly drying) and it has great color payoff. It's a beautiful color for most skin tones especially darker skin tones and it adds a subtle sophistication to your look. It's a lovely easy to wear color that can be dabbed on for a softer stain like appearance or worn full on for more of a classic polished look. Love it!

Hello beauties! Hope you are all well! Today I will be talking about a new lippie I picked up from Sephora the other day. Yes...I went back! I couldn't help myself! Ha!

The product I will be reviewing is one of the Dior Nude Lip Blushes...a lippie I've been wanting to try for awhile now. I picked up the shade "Charnelle" because I've been looking for a warm soft pink-y/peach/nude shade that has just enough color to add a slight flush of color but still looks soft, delicate and somewhat nude on the lips. This shade is sheer perfection...literally!

So let's take a closer look at this little gem!

The packaging is oh so beautiful as all Dior products are! It's the signature deep navy case and silver accents. It also has a nice weight to feels substantial in your hands.

I love the "CD" on the cap and the overall design of the case. It's simple and very chic!

These Lip Blushes have a semi sheer tinted lip balm finish with a very creamy and rich texture. They are hydrating and comfortable to wear and great if you want a sheer wash of color that adds a soft and natural looking flush to the lips.

Charnelle applies very smoothly and feels lovely lips feel hydrated and soft. It has a nice amount of pigmentation for a sheer/balm style product and once the "balm" effect fades I'm left with a pretty soft stained lip look. I can get a few hours of wear from this before the "balm" finish fades or I feel the need to apply more.

I would describe Charnelle as a warm pink/peach/nude. It's almost a "my lips but better" shade as it slightly enhances my natural lip color but still maintains a "nude" look. I love a nude lip for most days and find it hard to pick a color that doesn't wash me out. This shade is perfect! It has the right amount of natural color that would be flattering for most skin tones.

As you can see in the pictures above the color is quite soft and pretty with just a hint of warm peach-y/pink. It brightens my face and makes my lips look more plump and full...which is always nice! It's nude but a more natural nude instead of a nude that is milky or chalky looking. I think this lippie looks fresh and youthful on the lips and would look amazing with most eye shadow looks. Charnelle is a beautiful chic and sophisticated color that's perfectly feminine and great for a fuss free polished look! Love it!

NARS ~ Dolce Vita Blush

Hello beauties! Hope you are all well! Today I will be talking about a lovely new addition to my make up family! It's my very first NARS blush and I have to say...WOW!!!

I was so excited when I heard that a Sephora was opening nearby and I very anxiously awaited it's arrival. Finally opening day came and I was instantly transported to cosmetic heaven! So many beautiful things to look was slightly overwhelming and a total thrill for this beauty junkie! With all the temptations I was actually quite conservative with my shopping and only came out with 2 products. One of those products was this amazing blush!

So let's take a closer look!

So let's start with the packaging. It's sleek and minimal and the case has a matte finish.

The color is gorgeous. I would describe it as a muted reddish/berry/rose that looks like the natural flush you get in your cheeks after being outside on a windy day or after exercising. It's also the kind of color that (I think) would be flattering for most skin tones.

At first I though Dolce Vita was a matte finish but when I got it home I realized it has very subtle micro (barely noticeable) shimmer in it that adds a soft glow and prevents this blush from looking too flat on the face.

The texture of this blush is lovely and smooth and it feels very finely milled. It applies evenly and blends beautifully. Dolce Vita is a very pigmented blush...a little goes a long way with this one! If you want a more natural flush of color...use a light hand when applying. If you want more of a dramatic look then no problem! This blush is so good dip into the product with your brush will do the trick!

As you can see from the pictures above the color of this blush is that "rose-y just pinched" cheeks kind of color. It reminds me of the beautiful rose-y cheeks children have and I think it just adds a bit of freshness and youthfulness to the face. So pretty!

In these next pictures I tried to capture the color of Dolce Vita on and how it brightens up the face and adds a natural healthy flush of color.

Overall Dolce Vita is a lovely blush! It's one of those colors that you don't have to think about because it's just so flattering and mimics the look of naturally flushed cheeks. It's incredibly pigmented...has a smooth texture and blends easily. I can definitely see this blush becoming a favorite! Love it!
